Storytellers In Fashion 2018

Storytellers In Fashion sheds light on the creative experience and inspiration behind various 54 Kingdom designs, and is reflected through oral and visual presentations, while providing a home for other emerging Pan-African artists to share their stories through creative outlets such as music, dance, visual art, poetry, film, comedy, and more. The 6th annual Storytellers In Fashion showcase hosted by Afropolitan Insights will take place on Friday, November 23, 2018 under the theme "Build Africa" featuring performances and narratives by Nikolaevna, Bennu & Muffii (Dance), Benpaali & Kuumba Media (Film), Anita Antoinette (Music) and 54 Kingdoms (Fashion).

The 21st Annual Food Allergy Ball Benefiting Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE)

Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), the world’s largest private source of funding for food allergy research, will hold the 21st Annual Food Allergy Ball on Dec. 3, 2018, at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City. All proceeds will benefit FARE, a national nonprofit organization with the mission of improving the quality of life and the health of individuals with food allergies, and providing them hope through the promise of new treatments. Food allergies among children have risen dramatically, increasing by 50 percent from 2007-2011, and every 3 minutes, a food allergy reaction sends someone to the emergency room. “CODEX to CAGE” an eclectic concert program in the heart of Upper West Side

NEW YORK, November 14 -- Long-time westsider musicians Mari Kimura (violinist/composer) and Bruce Brubaker (piano) will join up for “CODEX to CAGE" an eclectic concert program in the heart of Upper West Side on Monday, December 10 at 7:30 PM at North of History, 445 Columbus Avenue (81-82 Street). Kimura will perform solo violin works ranging from Bach to Ioanis Xenakis to works of her own. Brubaker, who heads the Piano program at the New England Conservatory and is a renowned interpreter of Philip Glass and Terry Riley, will perform works from his repertoire, including “Codex Faenza,” a 15th-century manuscript that Brubaker has arranged. Kimura and Brubaker will join forces in their interpretation of John Cage’s “Fontana Mix” to conclude the concert.

Save the Lemurs NYC Gala

2nd Annual Black Tie Benefit Ball for Vision 2020
