Celebrating Women Breakfast

The New York Women’s Foundation is the largest grantmaking women’s foundation in the United States and second in the world. The Celebrating Women Breakfast is our signature event and it has been held since our founding in 1987. The Celebrating Women Breakfast celebrates the work of our grantee partners—women-led community organizations working to create an economically secure, safer future for all women and families in New York City. The Breakfast also honors women leaders who work to empower women and girls in New York City and the world. Past honorees have included Madeleine Albright, Queen Latifah, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Billie Jean King, Gloria Steinem, and Nobel Laureates Leymah Gbowee and Dr. Wangari Muta Maathai. Global Lyme Alliance Greenwich Gala

GLA's Greenwich Gala is one of the premier fundraising events in Fairfield County. The Greenwich Gala is a signature event for GLA and plays a key role in GLA's overall fundraising efforts to conquer Lyme and other tickborne diseases. The Gala also brings attention to the injustice thousands of Lyme disease patients suffer every day through the bravery of the event's honorees. This special evening also acknowledges a Lyme disease researcher who has made a significant impact in our fight. The 2016 and 2017 Greenwich Galas raised nearly $2 million collectively.

The 2018 Cheryl Diamond NYC 5K Schlep: Breast and Ovarian Cancer Run / Walk

The NYC 5K Schlep: Breast and Ovarian Cancer Run / Walk is a certified 5K that brings together hundreds of participants from the New York tri-state area, ranging in age from 6 - 90 years old, bound together in solidarity to raise the hopes of those battling breast and ovarian cancer as well as awareness and funds to help further research and treatment. The NYC 5K Schlep Run / Walk benefits a BRCA Multidisciplinary Clinic to serve women at high risk of breast and ovarian cancer and funds research to find cures for breast and ovarian cancers. The NYC 5K SCHLEP Run / Walk also supports studies in connection to BRCA mutation carriers. The event raises over $150,000 annually.
