The New York Women’s Foundation’s Neighborhood Dinner in Manhattan

The New York Women’s Foundation celebrates Manhattan women who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and longstanding commitment to neighborhood-based work on behalf of local women and families on Tuesday, September 19th at the Museum of the City of New York.
Neighborhood Leadership awards will be presented to Dr. Marta Moreno Vega, President/Founder of the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute and Cecilia Gastòn, Executive Director of Violence Intervention Program, Inc. Spirit of Entrepreneurship awards will be presented to Melba Wilson, owner of Melba’s Restaurant & Melba’s Catering and Maxine Daniels, founder of I Bike Harlem.
The Manhattan Neighborhood Dinner will also feature The Foundation’s local grantee partners, whose advocacy and service make the borough a place where women and families can thrive.
The Foundation launched the Neighborhood Leadership Award in 1994 to promote and honor the power of women acting in and for their communities, alternating among New York City’s five boroughs each year. Last year, leaders in Queens were recognized.
Check-in begins at 6 PM. The program and awards presentations will begin promptly at 7 PM.
