On October 2, 2014 at the Top of Garden in Midtown NY, GEMS is hosting an evening soiree of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction to raise money and awareness.

GEMS was founded in 1998 by Rachel Lloyd in response to an overwhelming need for services for girls and young women at risk for commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking who were being ignored by traditional social service agencies. GEMS is specifically designed to serve girls and young women who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking. Motivated to raise critical funds to support GEMS’s work and to increase awareness of the commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking of girls and young women, GEMS is proud to celebrate their accomplishments and growth over the past 16 years.

The proceeds from the event will go to support GEMS’ critical services for girls and young women between the ages of 12 through 24, of commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking. GEMS’ provides an array of services including counseling, crisis care, housing, educational support, employment, and youth leadership training.

The event is expected to attract more than 200 guests from the music, film, activism, business, cultural, and philanthropic industries.
